Construction Project Manager
Job Details
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible to collaborate on, oversee, and coordinate assigned projects from start to finish. Provides leadership in initial planning stage by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, or other involved parties necessary for overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist estimating as needed.
- Review and understand Owner and Subcontractor contracts.
- Buy out – thoroughly review subcontractor scope of work, recognize and limit impacts of scope gaps, discrepancies and or emissions / exclusions.
- During scope review get subcontractor “buy-in” to the project schedule.
- Apply for and obtain necessary project permits.
- Issue subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Develop project schedule in collaboration with the Superintendent and update monthly or per contract documents.
- Thoroughly review submittals for accuracy and adherence to contract documents in a timely manner.
- Manage and process RFI’s .
- Manage change order requests and communicate with clients concerning budget and costs.
- Review for accuracy, manage and approve Owner and Subcontractor invoices.
- Closely monitor project budget.
- Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
- Coordinate, attend and document construction progress meetings.
- Prepare and manage closeout procedures and documents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software
- Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
- Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems
- Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction documents
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering or relevant experience
- At least five years of construction experience required
- Construction Manager certification by the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America preferred but not required
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Primarily performs work in an office environment but with hours spent on jobsites with exposure to weather conditions and characteristic construction site dangers.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
- May require travel.
Working Hours
This position is Exempt with a minimum of 45 hours per week. General work week is Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm but may require evening and weekend hours to attend business functions outside normal business hours. Must be available by phone to address any time sensitive issues beyond normal business hours.
