The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway exceeded its goal of providing a quality,low maintenance facility that will serve the community for many years to come. Masonry and steel construction provide a durable end product capable of taking the daily use and abuse of an active fire company.
This state-of-the-art firehouse was constructed next to the existing firehouse. The two-story facility includes a watch room, day room, kitchen, and training rooms on the first level and administrative offices, a dormitory, weight room and locker rooms on level two. The existing firehouse was expanded by 1900 SF to become a 96 FT long apparatus room with four bays. The front and rear doors in the apparatus bays permit drive-thru convenience for the ladder and tanker trucks and allow the fire company to feed apparatus into the community from dual ports.
