Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries expanded the wilderness camp facility to replace an existing cabin with a new 9,000 SF student dormitory. To retain the rugged woodlands appearance, earth tone split-face masonry, architectural shingles and green siding selections blend naturally with the mountain surroundings. The 15,000 SF greenhouse was constructed as a critical element of a sewage effluent disposal system. A packaged treatment plant and the moisture evaporation of the computer automated greenhouse environment insures the safety of a nearby trout stream and high quality watershed. The final building of a three phase project was the multi-purpose building. The building provides additional classrooms and a full court basketball gymnasium.
